Vaccine research

The Coronavirus pandemic has taken the world by storm, killing millions globally and causing extreme havoc to all. You’d think that an almost fatal virus like this would have a tested vaccine ready to cure millions. However, the controversial argument on the fate of the vaccine still continues.
Research for a cure to COVID-19 has been an ongoing battle since the very first month of the outbreak of the pandemic. Although various nations have attempted to develop a virus killing vaccine, there has been no successful cure yet.
Backed up by the World Health Organization, researchers tirelessly continue their exploration and analysis to find a suitable vaccine to eradicate the virus from affected patients.
Various contrasting schools of thought have taken over this argument, either saying that (a) the vaccine is the sure-shot way to cure COVID-19 and is the need of the hour, and (b) vaccines will simply suppress the antibodies in our bodies rather than decimating the virus, thus leading to the fact that our bodies are reliable enough to fight the virus without the use of external chemicals that may or may not be the suitable cure.
Vaccines are biological products that generate acquired immunity to certain infectious diseases, in this case- the COVID-19 disease that was caused due to the SARS-cov-2 virus.
Under regular conditions, research, development, testing and manufacturing of a vaccine takes several years. However, in a critical time like this where the virus was such an unanticipated one, research institutes and vaccine developers are working faster to accelerate the finding of the cure to quickly deliver a safe and effective vaccine against COVID-19.
Currently, there are a generous amount of 110+ COVID-19 vaccine development candidates all around the world. Cures of COVID haven’t just been vaccines and medications. Various developers and researchers have come up with or at least have attempted to come up with therapeutic cures for COVID-19.
Researchers have declared that the vaccine to eradicate the COVID-19 virus should be developed by mid-2021, however still adding that there is no guarantee that it will be completely effective.
India being one of the most affected regions and simultaneously also being one of the most organized and responsible nations in the eradication of the COVID battle, has made significant contributions in vaccine development for Corinavirus.
According to global charts, India is one of the vaccine hubs across the globl however according to Indian researchers, India is still in its nascent stages of vaccine development for COVID-19.
30 different companies are trying to produce an Indian vaccine to fight against the pandemic at large. The WHO has given approval to 7 of them currently however the work is still in progress. While the debate continues over the effectiveness of a vaccine, we must acknowledge the medical experts, nurses, attendants, scientists and researchers who have been working tirelessly day and night, with sleepless nights just to ensure our safety and good health. With that being said, stay inside and stay safe!
